Each year the Publicly Engaged Church Committee makes available funds to encourage and support ministries serving local communities. These grants may be used as ‘seed’ money to begin a new ministry, or to continue an established ministry, or to expand and enhance an ecumenical effort.
Although there are limited funds, we encourage every congregation to prayerfully consider submitting a grant request. We wish we could offer financial support for every request submitted. Although not every request can be honored, we strive to support every ministry in some way. At our meeting in August we will consider all grant requests and honor as many as possible within the limits of our funding capacity. We will offer prayers for EVERY ministry proposed. All grant request forms must be submitted by July 28, 2017 to be reviewed at our August meeting. Announcement letters of our decisions will go out on or before October 1 with checks sent to congregations receiving grants in November.
